| 内容コメント | The very scarce first edition, issued by the Garden Cities Committee, of this work, putting forward the argument for more garden cities. The Committee comprised, amongst others, Osborn, Taylor, Purdom and Howard. Osborn later claimed that this book led directly to the founding of Welwyn Garden City. It was reissued in a substantially revised edition in 1942 to argue for more New Towns after World War Ⅱ. (See item 363, First Supplement.) |
| 管理備考 | オズボーンを中心に結成されたグループ「ニュータウン・グループ」の著書『戦後のニュータウン』の初版本．メンバーにはハワード、パードム、テイラーなどがいる．彼らの主張は「国や自治体による田園都市（ニュータウン）建設の必要」であったが認められなかった．結局ハワードたちはみずから用地買収を開始し独力でウェルウィン田園都市の建設にとりかかる．同じ頃パードム自身も『戦後の田園都市（1917）』を出版するがＨＧＣコレクションには含まれていない．薄手．小判．古書． |
